Technology Gadget - AMD’s first 40nm RV740 has been a key point of contention for the past months. Lots of users are really anxious to grasp more details of it. Now the follows at Guru3D has managed to got an engineering sample of Radeon HD 4750 based on RV740PRO, and given it a fast test.
As anticipated, ATI's 40nm RV740 graphics chip is indeed coming for mainstream soon. An engineering graphics card based on 40nm process RV740 was tested by Guru3D.com. The RV740 graphics chip will be RV730's successor and the graphics card might be slotted for mid-range segment.
Based on 40nm manufacturing process, Radeon HD 4750 features 640 stream processors (just as HD 4830), 32 texture memory units (TMUs) and 8 Render back-ends (it’s mistakenly marked as 16 Render back-ends in the chart). Though the memory interface has reduced to 128bit, the GDDR5 memory still ensures its memory clock of 3200MHz, while the core clock keeps at 650MHz.
Equipped with 3+1 phase power supply, 6pin connector and two CrossFireX bridge interconnect, Radeon HD 4750 ES is cooled by Zalman VF900-Cu with dual ball-bearing, copper heatpipies & fins, and a 80mm fan. This card is coming with dual-DVI and one S-Video connectors.
